Adopting a rescue animal from Homeless Hounds rather than buying an animal from a pet shop, breeder or website like Gumtree means that you’re saving the life of an at-risk dog, cat or other animal and helping to break the cycle that currently sees so many animals euthanised on a regular basis.

  • Are there any adoption requirements?

    Each animal will have a list of requirements asked of a potential adopter. Our team of experts will work with you to find an animal that suits your lifestyle and home environment, looking at factors that include having small children, having a small or no backyard and having other animals at home.

  • What is the adoption fee for?

    The adoption fee of a rescue animal covers vet bills (vaccinations, desexing, parasite control and microchipping), pound fees and transport to and within our network. We rarely cover our costs and for this reason we can not reduce adoption fees.

  • What sort of support will I have?

    We have an experienced team who can help with whatever you may need before, during and after the adoption process.

  • How do I adopt a pet?

    Once you’ve found an animal you’d like to adopt, if you meet the requirements, our team will work with you to meet the animal and test its suitability in your home environment. Simply fill in the relevant adoption questionnaire available on your animal’s profile page.
